An Historical Miner-Era Hospital Turned Modernized Bed & Breakfast Experience
What do you do with a historic 1890’s hospital, overlooking Cripple Creek and the surrounding mountains, and just a short walk from casinos, attractions, and fine food?
You create a hotel that displays the rich character of the turn of the century and adds modern amenities that make lodging there a true pleasure.
The Hotel St. Nicholas, named for the gold rush-era hospital that once occupied the same building, offers a blend of fascinating history and gracious accommodations in a charming Cripple Creek bed and breakfast inn.

Delux King & Queen Rooms
These rooms offer the most space with special extras like an attached sitting porch, balcony, and room to accompany an additional roll-away bed.

Standard King & Queen Rooms
These rooms offer king & queen beds, with on-suite bathrooms. All the regular standard amenities you want like cable and internet at a nice price.

Budget & Petite Queen Rooms
If you’re looking to save a few dollars, the rooms are furnished with queen beds and standard amenities, but your private bathroom may be across the hall.

Double Bed Room
We’ve got one double bed room with your name on it, if that’s the sort of set up you’re looking for. All the standard amenities + ensuite bathroom.

What’s it like?
Experience the historic Hotel St. Nicholas and enjoy an elegant 1898 mountain bed and breakfast.
The Hotel building, now over 122 years old, was originally built as a hospital for gold prospectors and miners who flooded the town of Cripple Creek, Colorado. The Hotel, listed on the National Historic Register, sits atop the historic hilltop district and offers a panoramic view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and downtown Cripple Creek.
Quietly located just two blocks from Cripple Creek casinos and historic attractions, guests may enjoy soaking in the seasonal rooftop Jacuzzi, relaxing in the in-door dry sauna or retreating to one of our 15 elegant rooms.
All rooms are uniquely appointed to capture the atmosphere of turn-of-the-century Cripple Creek. Two premium rooms are available with either a sitting room or balcony. All rooms include private bath, wireless Internet access, and cable TV.
In the afternoon savor the clean mountain air on the patio, or visit our Boiler Room Tavern in the evening for a nightcap.

This place is difficult to describe. Its neat, awesome, homely, authentic, classy….. i can go on. The building is old and mostly original. Everything about this town is very magical or majestic including this hotel.
We spent one night at the hotel, after driving through the beautiful Fall Colors. The hotel is loaded with history and charm. My only regret is we didn’t have a beer in the bar! Definitely would be a place I would stay again…
Really charming decor. Old historical building, but well maintained and very reasonably priced. I enjoyed my stay.
